The aim of this course is to introduce the main concepts and importance of Supply Chain Management to Medical Laboratory Scientists in Nigeria.
This course introduced you to the overall benefit of supply chain management in laboratory service delivery to ensure the effective and efficient health care delivery to the populace. In summary, supply chain management:
• Ensures the availability of laboratory commodities.
• Promotes common approaches on policy, laboratory procedures, and information systems.
• Promotes best practice in the overall management of laboratory commodities in laboratory diagnosis and monitoring of diseases.
• Promotes the utilization of the existing laboratory infrastructure within the AFRO region as regional reference centers.
An increasing knowledge of laboratory logistics will facilitate the exchange of information among members through their professional bodies and further increase the awareness of its importance in laboratory services across the country. It promotes joint advocacy and resource mobilization for laboratory services.
