Phlebotomy

Blood collection has been identified to have a major impact on the quality of results and data generated from laboratory investigations and proper management of the clients. Experience have shown that the capacity of laboratory scientists who draw blood for the purpose of laboratory investigations and blood transfusion needs to be enhanced. This course on phlebotomy is intended to build the capacity of laboratory scientists in the area of proper blood collection, management of clients in the event of accident during sample collection and safety precautions, to avoid needle stick injury during or after sample collection.
